Tricks, Transitions and "turning up the volume" all happen in the Basic Pole class. This is a great class if you are just starting out and want to learn twirls, climbs and inversions along with some transitional movements. We will do a short dance at the end of each class that includes a portion of the moves and tricks you have learned.
This class introduces the new student to many of the key isolations of belly dance. Students work with drilling technique, getting their bodies used to a new way of moving. This lays the groundwork for any and every style of belly dance! Creating muscle memory is key in this class to prepare for all of our other classes. No previous experience necessary! Students will be practicing in class, from hip, torso isolations and footwork patterns across the floor. The pace is kept slow and steady, meant for absolute beginners to the dance. Students may advance at their own pace, making sure to communicate with the instructor about their progress. When they feel they are ready students can also begin to attend the Belly Dance Choreography class. Students may participate in Belly Dance Basics along with the Belly Dance Choreography Class
Aimed at students who want to increase their skills, the class builds from the Belly Dancing Basics class coupled with intermediate choreography and technique. This level is divided into two sections: Technique and Choreography. Technique focuses on adding grace and polish to overall dance presentation, while introducing intermediate to advanced belly dance patterns. Choreography is focused on intermediate choreography. Dances may include veils or cymbals or not require any accessory. Students may participate in Belly Dancing Choreography Class along with the Belly Dance Basics class.

The contemporary Bollywood dance style is a fusion of traditional and folk dances, classical Indian dance-like Kathak and Bharatanatyam, and western influences-jazz, hip hop, and modern.
Boot camp is a high intensity cardio class mixed with weight training. The classes focus on full body fitness and address all areas of fitness including cardio and muscular endurance, fat loss and weight loss, full body strength, agility, balance, and flexibility. Work to tone all muscle groups – arms, shoulders, back, quads, hamstrings, abs - And cardio to burn fat. Examples of some moves include plyometrics (jumping) and plank holds. Burn the maximum amount of calories by combining weights with other moves. Like squat jumps with shoulder press. Or one move right after the other like mountain climbers into squats. Cardio, then the "break" is muscle contraction. Constant movement keeping the heart rate elevated. Our classes are done in a circuit, based on time, or reps. Moves and circuits vary per class. Oh My You're Gorgeous' Yoga is a Hatha, Vinyasa mash-up combining many different forms of yoga to give you the most benefits and easiest practice possible. It focuses on the breath, flexibility, posture, internal health and gives you unexpected results such as emotional stability, thought clarity and better ability to focus.

Why is this Yoga practiced in a heated room?
Sweating is one of the most important mechanisms of natural healing. Our skin is the largest elimination organ of the body (even larger than
your digestive system) and is the most effective in releasing toxins from the body. Toxins can come in the form of food, air, drink, stress and
so on. The heated room accelerates the opening of the pores externally. When you combine this with the ujjayi breath (the breath we use in
the practice that warms the body up internally), you have a POWERFUL cleansing practice!!
The Power comes from strengthening and quieting the mind by practicing awareness and striving to make positive change.
The Flow refers to the flowing part of the practice which is known as vinyasa. The flow is the state of total immersion in an activity that contributes to true and lasting happiness. Flow is completely focused, single-minded involvement in something, where emotions are harnessed, channeled and aligned with the task at hand. So even though the physical practice of power flow yoga is strong, sweaty, and challenging at the same time it is rejuvenating and calming. We attempt to find peace in all of it. It is a balanced practice.
